If you are thinking, "I'm not that patient of a person to learn music, or to write music.", then you should be learning music. It is a process to learn how to learn music, play an instrument, write a song, etc., but it is a VERY fulfilling process.
As you discover the way you can express yourself in music, you learn get excited about what you are learning and doing! You start to realize that the learning and process are part of the FUN of learning, and that there is as much, if not more, satisfaction in the process of the learning as there is in the achieving of the goal.
The fun in the learning can be personal, but it can also be shared. If you share your musical learning with others, you not only have more enjoyment in the learning, you learn more than you would by yourself. It is definitely a matter of “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” (Aristotle)
Do not be deceived in thinking that there is no personal learning done. There is definitely that- the more effort you put in personally, the more you get out of it. But when you get together with others, the sharing of music with each other is even more fulfilling.
PLUS, you remember that thought about not having enough patience? Well, the more you exercise patience, the more you will have!
